Diary of a young women living with her parents near Rochelle, Illinois. Inscribed on flyleaf: Emma M. Carll. Polo, Ogle Co. She writes of household chores, sewing, quilting, knitting "tidies" church, a young man named Frank, many other family and friends. Throughout the diary are comments on her own spiritiualism and moods; she appears depressed at times.
